| Where To Go in Windsor Park |
| | You can shop and bring your old craft supplies to donate at Austin Creative Reuse! (Kelsey Bradshaw/ City Cast Austin) |
| You’ll find Windsor Park on the northeast side of Austin, sandwiched between U.S. 290 and the Mueller neighborhood. The area has plenty to do, and we’ve got your guide right here. | | 🖍️ Austin Creative Reuse, 2005 Wheless Lane | If you’ve never heard of Austin Creative Reuse, this writer is about to change your life. Austin Creative Reuse is a thrift store for crafts. For! Crafts! It is the best place on earth, maybe. Visit for cheap supplies for scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, painting, drawing, beading, embroidery, and writing. The store is also full of school supplies, photo frames, tiles, and more. Block out an afternoon and go explore. | | 🍴 Hank’s Austin, 5811 Berkman Dr. | Looking for something fancy but not too fancy? Hank’s is for you. The restaurant blends into the neighborhood and serves up a great burger, lemon ricotta pancakes, and kale caesar salad. The vibe is also great, with light and bright decor, and tons of seating for your big group. | | 🍕 Little Deli & Pizzeria, 1804 Briarcliff Blvd. | Did you know Little Deli has a Windsor Park location? Fuel up on pizza, an Italian sandwich, or opt for one of the cold sandwiches. The chicken salad sandwich is pretty perfect. Pro tip: It’s BYOB. | | 🛍️ Texas Thrift Store, 5319 North Interstate 35 | Sometimes you just need to zone out in a big thrift store. Texas Thrift Store is the place for such a venture. The store is packed to the brim with finds, and with Halloween coming up, it’s a great spot to start shopping for your costume! | | 🌳 Bartholomew District Park, 5201 Berkman Dr. | It’s still summer until we hit our first 60-degree day, if you ask us. Since it’s still hot out, head over to Bartholomew District Park which is home to Bartholomew Municipal Pool. Go for a walk and then head to the pool, which is huge with four swimming lanes, a wading pool, water slides, and a splash pad. It’s one of Austin’s pools that’s open year round. The pool is open at noon on Saturdays and Sundays, and costs $5 for adults. |
