| SXSW Announces Big Changes for 2027 | South by Southwest answered a few key questions about the 2027 version of the festival on Tuesday. | - Where will movies be held without the Paramount Theatre? Paramount Theatre will still be undergoing a revamp during SXSW, which means the festival’s biggest movie premieres needed somewhere to go. Festival officials announced that red carpets and movie premieres will primarily be held at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
- Isn’t the convention center still going to be under construction? Yes! Construction on the convention center is expected to last until 2029. SXSW will do what it did this year and instead of having a central hub, a number of hubs will be placed throughout downtown.
- Is SXSW going to do anything special for Austinites? SXSW has gotten so big that it’s hard to remember it used to be a little, local festival. For the first time, the festival is giving Austinites access to The 512 Club if they use an Austin zip code when purchasing a badge. The club includes better badge rates and a downtown, locals-only lounge.
- Are music wristbands going to be available again? Yes! Music wristbands are on sale now and cost $149.
